Her Style: Pharell's Boots

Friday, July 10, 2009 by Samantha Clarke

Pharell chose an interesting pair of tall boots to wear to The Serpentine Gallery Summer Party in London yesterday.

Men,
Is men's fashion taking a turn for the worse or something? Would YOU wear these?

Women,
What do you think? Would you go anywhere with a man that was wearing boots? Horseback riding not included.

Let me know in the comments section below. I'm NOT feeling them - AT ALL. Then again, ugly boots may have been a part of the dress code - check the lady in the back. Ha-ha!

Sorry Pharell, it's a no-go.

Her Commentary: Couples That Dress Alike... Yay or Nay?

Friday, June 26, 2009 by Samantha Clarke

I actually like these two, so I may be a bit partial to the situation in this instance. They're dressed in jeans, black leather jackets, and white tees and I'm sure it was totally planned.

It's a simple look and they both look great, however the idea of dressing exactly alike isn't always cute. I myself think it's cool to compliment each other, but I don't think I can plan to look alike like they did. Just a little on the corny side if you ask me. Check out Tom and Katie below, so not cute!

What do you think? Would you plan a matching outfit with your partner?

Her Thoughts: Not Every Style is for Everybody

Sunday, June 14, 2009 by Samantha Clarke

Let me start by saying that confidence is the key to pulling off any look, BUT there are some situations where a strong walk and squared shoulders won't help. I've seen several cute trends that I've wanted to try, but realized that maybe it wasn't the best for my body type. For example, being larger up top requires support at ALL times. Some super fly skimpy spaghetti strapped summer dresses or the American Apparel Gloria V-bodysuit (that Angella Simmons is wearing here) may not work that well. The best tool I've realized is a great friend, a family member, or a loving boyfriend (or yourself!) to tell you the truth without hurting your feelings. I'm lucky to have all three! Phew...

I think the best thing to do is choose your favorite body parts, the ones that you are the most confident about, and wear styles that help you feel your very best. What do you think? Leave a comment here and let me know.
